Hi, I’m Hannah.

I think human beings are maddening and wonderful. Inquiring into “What the hell is going on here with the humans?!” has been the defining feature of my life since memory, and has led me on many journeys outer and inner. As a practitioner, it is my joy and good fortune to companion others in navigating the inner terrain. Click here to learn more about my style and approach. I live my life in devotion to the path of awakening for the benefit of all beings. Working as a practitioner in the healing arts is so much more than a job for me. It is the wellspring from which my life flows.

My approach to the world is hugely informed by the three homes of my heart in Northern California, Boulder, Colorado, and New Orleans, Louisiana. I’ve also had the opportunity to travel within 25 countries and have spent a collective 3 years of my life outside the U.S., apprenticing to many healing, community, and cultural contexts. In addition to therapist, I identify as a writer and community tender. At this point in my life, I most identify as an inner traveler. Every day, every moment holds the possibility for a fresh engagement with life as it is.

I also situate myself and my work within the broader cultural movement of Metamodernism, which seeks to embrace paradox and acknowledge the influence of broader systems on our lived expeirence, while maintaining agency to act meaningfully within and beyond them. Many of my friends and colleagues straddle the worlds of education, art, medicine, regenerative systems thinking, social activism, and village-building. While my own work currently focuses primarily on individual inner work, I see this pursuit as absolutely inseparable from the broader web of socio-cultural influences and opportunities to participate meaningfully in our collective unfolding future.

I owe a debt of gratitude to many master teachers. For 10 years, I have been mentored intimately by Diana Zaheer. The transmissions of my most influential teachers are largely informed by the teachings of Tibetan Medicine, the Diamond Heart School of A.H. Almaas, Daniel P Brown and the Mahamudra lineage, Adyashanti, and Joanna Macy. Additionally, my work is informed by extensive study of the Enneagram, developmental psychology through a study of Integral Philosophy and STAGES International, neuroscience, psychedelic medicine, earth and nature-based connection, plant teachers, hospice contexts, song and storytelling, liberation and justice based frameworks, and many world wisdom traditions, including my own lineage tradition of Jewish mysticism and ritual. Many bold writers and brave artists have also offered so much heart and vibrancy to my life.

My personal life teems with the attempt to uncover and encounter the sacred everywhere I go: in remote valleys in the wilderness, in late night dance clubs, in a bantering exchange with a stranger at the corner store, in the messy moments of fear and unknown. I care deeply about cultivating a sustained wonder and celebration of this mystery we call life, so that we humans can participate in a way that is generative for our entire earth and more-than-human community for generations to come. I live in the territory of the Northern Pomo and Coastal Miwok, today known as Sebastopol, California.
